Tag the Creators Who’ve Kept You Sane Abroad
When everything felt foreign, their words felt like home... even at 2am
Psst… before you make yourself comfy.
Before you settle in, let me tell you where you are.
This is the Living Room: the place where I say the quiet stuff out loud, and where your comments have kept me sane more than once.
This is where the real stuff lives. Not the shiny travel photos — the doubt, the joy, the grief, the growth.
If that sounds like something you want more of in your inbox, there’s a spot for you on the sofa.

Some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten about life abroad?
Came from people I’ve never met, but whose words made me feel seen on the loneliest days. People who wrote things I screenshotted, saved, and returned to when I needed a reminder that this wild, wandering life wasn’t just mine. People who made me laugh about the exact things that had me crying a week before.
I laughed. I cried. I subscribed.
And I think we need to talk more about them.
So this week’s thread is for love letters — to the creators who’ve turned life abroad from a lonely leap into something that feels like a cosy club.
So, tell us:
💫 Who are the writers, podcasters, TikTokers, or Instagram voices that have actually made your life abroad feel more possible, more real, more you?
🗺 What do they talk about that hits home — the logistics, the loneliness, the lifestyle, the laughs?
📚 And how has following them changed something for you — a belief, a plan, a ritual, a dream?
Drop their names, newsletters, Insta handles, spicy takes, or comforting rambles. Bonus points if you tell us what kind of abroad content you wish existed — because chances are, someone reading needs the same thing (or might just create it).
And yes, if you like, you may tag yourself! Love the confidence!

There are plenty more but these come to mind first!
There are so many, but the first name that comes to mind is yours! You were an early discovery here and served as my “gateway drug” into the scene. I wouldn’t be connected to so many folks choosing their own adventure if it weren’t for you!
